It is not often that I use an old black and white picture as a base for a photoshop chop. But sometimes I stumble upon a picture and immediately know what to do with it. Subtle, clean and simple, but with great impact was the idea this time around. The Opel Rekord C delivery van (Lieferwagen) has been lowered, the rear fenders have been widened and the grille has been modified. This gives it a muscle-car-like look and certainly more presence, doesn’t it? Just the right amount of lowering to give it a proper stance adds to the presence. Larger diameter and wider steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps go well with the classic overall look and keep the retro vibes.

Chevrolet 3100 Pick-Up Dually

Found this picture of the Chevrolet 3100 Pick-Up over at autowp.ru and instantly thought I’d have to modify it. The truck is now a top-chopped dually. Quite impressive, isn’t it? The proportions now make it look like a larger truck. Other than the modifications already mentioned, I kept it mostly stock. No need to mess with a great design like that!

Volkswagen Fox with deep dish steelies

This Volkswagen is called Fox in the United States and Gol in Brazil, where it was built. I kept this one very simple – dropped over oldschool steel wheels with whitewall tires. Actually, this was just a quickie, done in roughly an hour on a rainy sunday afternoon.

Mitsubishi Lancer Mk4 Turbo

I do like edgy cars. And even the rather boring ones can be modified to look (a little) less boring. This Mitsubishi Lancer Mk4 (aka Mitsubishi Mirage) was modified to appear like a car that was build on a shoestring budget. Lowered, larger steel wheels and flared rear fenders. Easy as that.
